My current battle is my gearbox ratio. Here in United States a 4.375 final gear ratio makes it very unpleasant to drive on interstates

I have been looking at both options, but have noticed that 5spd builds require you to chop the floor and/or the main frame that goes down the center of the car.
I have also been looking at Steve Swan's posts on other forums, and most of his info explains that some of these options (big 4 speed or 5spd) could take quite a bit of machine work and/or various pièces to source. With this being said, some of these options could be challenging to tackle while living in the states.
On another note, I just purchased a rebuilt motor. It is a 1.4 C3J block with a crossflow R5 Alpine head. Since i have gone down this path, I will continue with the same spline and bell housing as my current 330-06 gearbox. The end goal is to lower my final RPM for highway speeds
